To teach about the force of static or frictional electricity and to demonstrate the presence of electric charge. The apparatus consists of a metal rod with pointed ends pivoted on a metal rod mounted on a heavy metal base. When a charged friction rod is bought near the pointed ends the rod begins to spin. 6 inch (150mm) high, 5.5 inch(140mm) wide.
