Cathode Ray Tube Magnetic Deflection

Cathode Ray Tube, Magnetic Deflection

To demonstrate that Cathode Rays are composed of charged particles and can be deflected by a magnet. This is demonstrated by showing that the ray deflects when a magnet is brought near to the ray. The apparatus consists of a cylindrical glass tube about 11 inch (28cm) long x 1.62 inch (41mm) dia, with two terminals. When connected to an Induction Coil or an appropriate power supply, the ray of charged particles can be observed. And when you bring a magnet near to the path the deflection can be observed. Supplied complete with stand.

Induction Coil, wires, magnet not included.
